Best Muscle Car In Forza Horizon 4
#1 Posted : Friday, November 18, 2016 12:38:37 AM(UTC) Hi guys, I'm participating in a league race and know almost nothing about drag racing, however two weeks from now we are due to run Pre 1975 American muscle cars and I haven't got a clue as to which is the fastest. Car has to remain RWD my best so far was a 9.435 in a 70' Dodge Challenger, although my friend beat me with a low 9.4 in a 67' Corvette Stingray. There are a tonne of cars to use but I am no solid tuner so thought I would ask around. Thanks in advance.

If there are no limitations, and anything goes it should be rather simple. Start out with the lightest muscle car that fits in the time frame, which I believe would be the C1 or C2 Corvete (1st or 2nd generation) I think they start around 3000 lbs., it could be less, sorry I don't have the game on in front of me. Either the LS1 swap (5.7L) or the Nascar engine is a must, of course the Nacar engine will be faster. Suspension set up, is simple, just look around the forums for a wheelie tune. None of the muscle cars should do any bumper dragging wheelies off the line, so a little front wheels in the air action means your getting some good weight transfer. If for some reason you are dragging your rear bumper from a standing start, I believe raising your front rebound dampening slightly a few clicks at a time helps settle down the front end if needed. I appreciate your feedback on the Corvette's. Considering I'm able to through almost everything into the car would you recommend putting the the roll cage at all or should i leave that out to minimise weight? Considering these limitation what do you think a good time would be? I've heard low 9's are good? Edited by userSunday, November 20, 2016 4:51:27 PM(UTC) |Reason: Not specified

Save that upgrade for very last, and if under that accel. tab the numbers go green, install it, if they go red, leave it. Just out of curiosity I built up a '65 Mustang that after all is said and done is just a hair under 2200 lbs, and with the maxed nascar engine swap, your right at 1000 HP. The biggest problem for this car is rear tire width, I think the max you could go up to was 295 rear width, but with a car as light as this one is, it wasn't too much of a problem. For the tune I did as I said in my first post, and the Mustang was hitting high 8's no problem.

I have a couple of different tuning threads about drag builds and tuning that may help. Might not, but could be worth a look see. One is a drag walkthrough that will apply to pretty much anything RWD. I have one or 2 more threads with some pretty good tips for drag builds. Gives those a look, hopefully there's stuff in there that'll help. Plus I have a tone of drag tunes shared that's you're more than welcome to give a shot. Even if you blown the builds apart and redo them, as long as it helps! http://forums.forzamotor...cing-Projects-Forum.aspx http://forums.forzamotor...-Tuning-Walkthrough.aspx Don't know if those will work or not. If anybody knows what I'm trying to do, maybe they could help? Sorry! Edited by userMonday, November 21, 2016 9:06:49 AM(UTC) |Reason: Not specified Maxwell's Speed Shop
#6 Posted : Monday, November 21, 2016 5:39:56 PM(UTC) I double checked, The 40' Coupe isn't available for that exact reason. After your previous advice I've put some considerable amount of time into tuning the 67' Corvette and I have the car performing consistently around the 8.8's however a friend of mine has informed me that some of the drivers are hitting mid 8's?!?! Seriously struggling to see how they are making .3 on me. FYI I appreciate both of your help :)

After a quick 1st tune, ran a couple 8.5s and 8.6s. That might be one worth checking out. Some of my older pretty 75 cars that ran similarly were the '69 Nova, '57 Chevy, '69 Boss 302, if you have it Dom's '70 Charger from FnF. That's a consistant 8.4 car. I'm gonna keep messing with that Falcon though. Maxwell's Speed Shop

Not sure why I forgot about Shelby being a "muscle car" haha. On a side note, is there anywhere you can go to set an actual time with the countdown timer aside from multi-player? I'm normally a circuit racer/tuner, so this is something different for me.

I usually just run on the test track and watch the lap timer, launch on the 10s. You can get a ball park idea if changes help or hurt before taking the time to go to multiplayer for an actual time. I've been taking into account trap speeds to determine approximate 1/4 time. Most of my cars that run 8.8ish run around 150ish mph through the 1/4, the Cobra hits just over 170 with a 3 speed set-up, so it's probably in the 8.3-.2 range.

Gonna have to leave Australia for a bit this weekend and revive my "Drag Build Projects" thread. I have built a Cobra, different Nova, a couple Chevelles, that Falcon and a couple different Mustangs since this thread started, lol. Wouldn't it be awesome if drag racing got some actual love one of these days?! It really cheesy but I even have started messaging the 405 guys on facebook, well juat one message to Daddy Dave lol, hoping to get one of them to see the potential income/sponsorship, maybe, never know. Point is, I want something that is REALISTIC! Sorry, small rant. Maxwell's Speed Shop

I'm normally a circuit racer/tuner, so this is something different for me. Its a bit of work lol, but go to multiplayer and set a a private lobby. Then do whatever size track you want and start the countdown. Only time you have to wait is the 15 sec countdown and the loading time. Make aa many heats as you want per track. Only way i have found to do it. But on the downside you cant go right from tuning :(
